Lake cottages
Cottages that turned into year-round homes often have mixed siding and trim from years of additions. Each surface may need its own primer.
Littleton is about seven miles north of Stow, and Ed paints lake houses, farmhouses and newer homes across town.
Littleton has deep orchard roots, which is part of why Veryfine moved its juice business here in 1930. Littleton Common is the busy center, I-495 and Route 2 cross the town, and Long Lake, Fort Pond and Mill Pond break up the neighborhoods. Around the lakes, many summer cottages became year-round homes over the years, while old farmhouses and newer subdivisions fill in the rest.
From Stow, Littleton is a quick trip north. Ed sees every house in person before he writes an estimate, and he'll point out anything that needs attention before paint, like soft wood or failing caulk. Near the highways and lakes, power washing usually comes before exterior house painting or deck staining. Inside, interior painting and cabinet painting can go on the calendar for the cold months. He visits the site each day the crew is there.

Houses close to I-495, Route 2 and Route 119 pick up road film and winter salt. A good wash before painting matters here.

Littleton was settled in the 1680s and some houses are very old. Anything built before 1978 calls for lead-safe prep.

Yes. Littleton is about seven miles north of Stow and part of Beacon's regular area.
Most exterior paints need several dry hours to set, and longer on cool or humid days. The crew checks the forecast and stops early if rain or heavy dew is coming.
Not that we know of. The town has a Historical Commission with a demolition-delay bylaw, which doesn't cover repainting.
Yes. Lakefront homes deal with damp and mildew, so the crew washes thoroughly and lets the siding dry before priming.
