1970s to 1990s homes
Houses this age are usually on their second or third paint job. The sunny walls and the trim tend to wear first, and catching it early saves wood.
Boxborough is four miles north of Stow, and Ed handles every estimate here in person.
Boxborough is small, wooded and quiet, even with I-495 and Route 111 running through it. Much of the town was built out later than its neighbors, with a good share of homes from the 1970s through the 1990s set back on treed lots. Along Hill Road, Middle Road and Picnic Street, the Old Town Center keeps farmhouses going back to the late 1700s and is listed on the National Register.
From Stow it's a short drive north, about four miles. Ed will walk the house with you, point out where the trim or siding is starting to wear, and put everything in a written estimate, products included. On a wooded lot the work often starts with power washing, then exterior house painting and deck staining. Inside, the crew handles interior painting and cabinet painting too. Once the work starts he checks in daily, so you always know where the job stands.

Tall trees keep siding shaded and slow to dry. Mildew and green growth on the north side need a proper wash before new paint goes on.

Farmhouses here date from the 1770s on. Old clapboard deserves gentle scraping, and anything painted before 1978 gets lead-safe prep.

Yes. Boxborough is about four miles north of Stow, well inside Beacon's usual area.
It varies with sun, shade and how well the last job was done. Sunny walls and trim usually show wear first, so Ed checks those closely and tells you whether you need a full repaint or just the worn sides and trim.
No. It's a National Register district, which doesn't normally control paint color on a private house. Boxborough's Historical Commission can tell you more.
Yes. Decks under trees stay damp and need cleaning and stain more often than the house, and Ed can price both together.
Exterior paint needs dry weather above about 50°F, so call in winter or early spring to get on the calendar.
