Postwar colonials and capes
Houses from the 1950s to the 1980s have been repainted several times by now. Built-up layers crack and lift, so scraping back to a sound surface matters.
Sudbury is about six miles southeast of Stow, and Ed paints colonials, capes and historic homes across town.
Sudbury grew fast after the war, from under 2,000 people in 1940 to more than 13,000 by 1970, so many homes are colonials and capes on one-acre lots. The older town shows in four local historic districts, including Sudbury Centre and the land around Longfellow's Wayside Inn. The Sudbury River runs through town, and part of the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge sits along it.
Ed visits each Sudbury house himself before he quotes, walking all four sides and any rooms you want painted. The estimate covers every surface and every product, whether it's exterior house painting on a one-acre colonial, interior painting, kitchen cabinet painting, deck staining or power washing near the river. While the crew works, he stops by daily to keep an eye on the quality and answer anything you want to ask.

Sudbury Centre, King Philip, Wayside Inn and George Pitts Tavern are local districts. The commission reviews exterior features seen from the street, color included.

Homes near the Sudbury River and the refuge sit in damp ground and air. A thorough wash and the right primer help the paint hold.

Yes. Sudbury is about six miles from Beacon's home in Stow, and Ed covers the whole town.
It depends on the size, how many layers of old paint need scraping, the trim and windows, and any repairs. Ed won't guess over the phone. He walks the house and gives you a detailed written estimate with every step listed.
In Sudbury's local districts, color is one of the things the Historic Districts Commission reviews. Check with them first, and Ed will work to whatever they approve.
Yes. If the budget is tight, Ed can suggest which sides of the house or which rooms should come first.
Paint from before 1978 may contain lead, and disturbing it calls for lead-safe methods under federal and state rules. Ed will go over it during the walk-through.
