Modern houses
Many of Lincoln's mid-century homes have vertical board siding and large areas of glass. Board ends and window trim need careful sealing to keep water out.
Lincoln is about ten miles east of Stow, and Ed paints both its classic and its modern houses.
More than a third of Lincoln is conservation land, so many homes sit among fields, woods and trails. The town is also known for modern houses: more than 300 Modern buildings went up between 1937 and 1969, starting on Woods End Road and including Brown's Wood, along with the Gropius House on Baker Bridge Road. Older homes cluster around Lincoln Center, and the Codman Estate dates to about 1735.
Ed looks closely at each Lincoln house himself, especially where modern siding and trim details need care, and he'll ask how you want natural wood to look. Some houses need exterior house painting, others need stain on vertical boards or cedar, and homes beside the woods often need deck staining and power washing. Interior painting and cabinet painting round it out. Then he writes an estimate explaining every step and product, and stops by daily.

Lincoln Center, Woods End and Brown's Wood are among the town's local historic districts. The Lincoln Historic District Commission reviews changes there.

Houses next to woods and fields stay shaded and damp. Mildew and moss show up on north walls, so washing comes first.

Yes. Lincoln is about ten miles from Stow, within Beacon's regular area.
Longer on shaded, sheltered walls and shorter where sun and rain hit hardest. Board ends soak up water, so sealing them well matters as much as the stain itself. Ed will tell you what to expect for your house.
Yes. Ed looks at the siding and trim first, since modern houses often use woods and finishes that need a different product than a colonial.
Lincoln has several, including modern houses added in 2018. Check with the Historic District Commission before changing colors.
Yes. Natural wood siding can be stained or sealed, and Ed picks a product that suits the wood and what's on it now.
